Senior Engineering Technician
- joined Aercoustics as a co-op student in 1992, and became a full time employee a year later; expanded her expertise in the noise and vibration consulting field, while with Aercoustics, and became senior engineering technician.
- conducted numerous environmental noise and vibration impact studies including studies required in the land use planning process.
- responsible for peer reviews of noise and vibration studies, as well as site inspections/certifications, and project management.
- responsible for drawing reviews, data collection and analysis, liaison with clients and reviewing authorities, as well as preparation of CAD details, layouts of seismic restraints, and presentation materials.
- involved in the design of prototypes of vibration control devices such as tuned mass dumpers at the Royal Conservatory of Music and Royal Alexandra Theatre, or frame isolation for paver machinery at Permacon.
- built small scale models for acoustical testing, and assisted in testing, including models of Omnimax Theatre at Ontario Science Centre and Sony Centre for the Performing Arts (formerly Hummingbird Centre); also built computer models for room testing purposes.
- involved in a variety of architectural, industrial and environmental projects; notable projects include: Toronto Transit Vibration Study, acoustic audit for Trans Canada Pipe Lines, Cinemex in Mexico, Esplanade Arts and Heritage Center in Medicine Hat, residential development at Halton Ceramics site, Rockfort Quarry in Caledon, the National Ballet School, Filmport Studios, Solstice in Mississauga, The Hazelton Hotel in Toronto, City Place Condominiums, Gosfield-Comber Wind Farm, QNC at University of Waterloo, and GO Transit Expansion.
