Aercoustics Principal Steve Titus is what you call “high energy”. When he’s not devouring articles on the latest auto racing technologies, or testing the tensile limits of his snowboard, or whittling down his golf handicap, you might find him in downtown Toronto taking sound measurements from the sidewalk.
He designed HVAC systems for a variety of buildings as a mechanical engineering consultant before joining Aercoustics in 2004 to work more with noise and vibration. And it worked.
His current architectural projects include the acoustical engineering for the new Corus Quay media centre in Toronto’s Harbourfront redevelopment, and acoustics and vibration design for the new Sick Kids Research Tower. Steve has also generated environmental noise and vibration impact studies, and acoustic assessments and audits for manufacturing facilities and cogeneration plants around the Greater Toronto Area; and rail vibration measurements for the Toronto Transit Commission across the city, and specifically relating to the Toronto Eaton Centre, the Toronto Life Square development, and the soon coming Bell Lightbox. His other projects have involved developing seismic analysis techniques for ductwork, piping and sprinkler systems.
