Elegance and efficiency.

Construction is set to begin this Fall, 2023 on the new 15,200-square-metre mass timber facility that will provide critical infrastructure to preserve the province’s collections of over 7 million culturally significant items and the BC Archives, along with dedicated research labs and learning resources. The building will also be an open public space, welcoming the community and visitors to listen, learn, and become part of the story, with improved access to the vast and diverse collections. The building itself aims to encourage dialogue, exploration, and connection between people, and with the land, through thoughtful layouts and design details. The building has been carefully planned to meet rigorous sustainability standards, including LEED Gold Certification. Aercoustics is currently providing acoustic design services for this project.
