Octave 08 – Why Construction Noise & Vibration Monitoring Needs Expert Analysis
Why Construction Noise & Vibration Monitoring Needs Expert Analysis
Effective monitoring goes beyond installing sensors and recording data. It requires expert planning and interpretation to distinguish between anomalies and true exceedances and keep the project on track. With the right support, you’re not just reacting to problems, you’re staying ahead of them. No overreacting to false alarms or worse, overlooking genuine risks. In his latest blog, Tamuno-Ibim Tolofari describes the critical role of expert analysis in construction noise and vibration monitoring, highlighting how adaptive systems that evolve with project conditions paired with clear, transparent reporting can transform raw measurements into actionable insights.

Aercoustics is proud to be expanding our work in Western Canada, contributing to two landmark projects that will shape the cultural and healthcare landscape of Kamloops and beyond.
Kamloops Cultural Hub
The City of Kamloops has officially unveiled the timeline and builder lineup for its long-anticipated Centre for the Arts, a major step toward bringing this cultural hub to life. Aercoustics is proud to play a key role in the project, designing the acoustics to deliver an exceptional experience for both audiences and performers.
Acoustic design is about creating a space where every note, voice, and performance can be heard with clarity and precision. From the first row to the very back of the hall, our goal is to capture the full magic of live performance.

Construction is officially underway on the new Kamloops Cancer Centre. As part of a $386M provincial investment, this state-of-the-art facility will expand access to life-saving cancer treatment and support services for patients across the Thompson-Cariboo-Shuswap region.
Aercoustics is proud to contribute our acoustic consulting expertise to this critical healthcare project. Our focus is on noise and vibration control, ensuring that the spaces within the centre support both patient care and staff performance. By designing acoustic solutions with healing in mind, we help create environments that foster comfort, clarity, and calm at every stage of treatment.

Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat Conference
We’re proud to share that Nicholas Sylvestre-Williams, Principal & Vice President at Aercoustics, recently presented in Toronto at the conference for the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, now rebranded as the Council on Vertical Urbanism. As part of Building Skins & Systems – Performance in Vertical Urban Design, Nicholas highlighted how performance engineering and acoustic design shape the future of vertical urban environments. It was an excellent opportunity to connect with global leaders in tall building design and showcase Aercoustics’ role in advancing sustainable, high-performance urban spaces.

Canadian Acoustical Association Conference
We’re excited to share that Aercoustics’ own April Vissers, Ben White, Ben Phillipson, Nicholas Sylvestre-Williams, Chris Bosyj, and Payam Ashtiani recently presented at the Canadian Acoustical Association conference, hosted in Calgary this October. Under the conference banner of Bridging Research with Practical Innovation, our experts explored topics such as low frequency rail vibration prediction and mitigation for MRI equipment, railway tunnels as ground borne vibration barriers, and construction noise and vibration in urban environments. It was a great opportunity to share insights, connect with peers, and contribute to advancing the field of acoustics.
