The Challenge:
The Image Centre and School of Image Arts at Toronto Metropolitan University is a hub for exploring and showcasing various forms of visual and audio expression, such as photography, new media, studio recording, installation art, and film. The building underwent a major expansion and renovation to accommodate multiple gallery spaces, cutting-edge archives, lecture theatres and research facilities. Our team of acousticians faced the challenge of designing galleries, classrooms and studios that could support the diverse and dynamic needs of new media artists and students.
The Innovation:
We applied our expertise and innovation to create spaces that are flexible, adaptable, and acoustically optimal for different types of media and audiences.
