Aercoustics celebrates Tim Preager and his move to new ventures

Michael Medal promoted to VP, Transit and Monitoring

Aercoustics Engineering Ltd., a leader in acoustics, noise and vibration, is celebrating partner Tim Preager as he moves onto other adventures and pleased to announce Michael Medal was promoted to VP, Transit and Monitoring as of May 1, 2024.

After 18 years, Tim Preager, former VP and Principal, is transitioning out of the company to explore other interests. Over his illustrious tenure at Aercoustics, he has worked in every practice area, and has also been instrumental in the development of the team. He leaves the transit group in capable hands, and Mike will ensure a smooth transition for all clients.

“Tim is a talented engineer and his contributions to building our transit and monitoring group are tremendous,” says Steve Titus, CEO, Aercoustics. “He also ensured we had a solid succession plan so we are able to continue his great work without disruption to our clients. He will be missed as he transitions to the next stage of his career.”

When he joined the company in 2006, Tim worked in project engineering and became a Principal in 2012, and then became the head of the transit team in 2015. Since that time, he has helped discover new ideas to build better transit systems and grew the team to 12 people in a short timeframe. The transit team provides services in all aspects of acoustics, noise, and vibration for the ever-growing number of transit infrastructure projects in Ontario and abroad.

Michael joined Aercoustics in 2009 and has worked on some of the largest transit infrastructure projects in Canada. He is passionate about helping transit networks meet the noise and vibration requirements that benefit both communities and the environment while managing the realities of construction. As an associate, he has found innovative and cost-effective solutions for critical projects and supported the team delivering on tight deadlines.

“Michael has been a key member of the Aercoustics team for more than 15 years and our investment in strong training and development programs means we are well-positioned for succession when leaders decide to move on,” says Titus. “With his background and experience, clients will be in good hands as Michael takes the lead on the transit portfolio.”
