The Challenge:
The challenge was to create a state-of-the-art facility for Algonquin College that would combine various trades and academic programs in a cohesive and collaborative way. The client envisioned a learning and research centre that would foster interdisciplinary interactions and innovations, while also meeting high standards of environmental sustainability and acoustic performance.
The Innovation:
The Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence (CCE) is a LEED Platinum certified building that integrates the trades wing and the academic tower of the campus. The CCE offers a variety of learning spaces, from traditional classrooms and labs to open and flexible areas that encourage teamwork and creativity, with acoustic performance to suit.
