The Challenge:
To allow the multi- venue theatre to operate without disruption between the different use areas.
The Innovation:
BMO Theatre Centre is home to the Arts Club Theatre and the Bard on the Beach theatre festival group and company. The main 250-seat theatre sits above the wine bar and venue. The remaining areas includes rehearsal halls, costume shops and offices for the two groups. These uses presented a challenge with sound isolation performance. The Theatre Centre was designed for maximum flexibility, so the acoustic performance had to match. Aercoustics worked with the design team to ensure the space was an acceptable venue for its many uses and that these uses would not disturb one another.
