A gathering place.

Our team is providing acoustic design services for the new Art Gallery of Nova Scotia on Halifax’s waterfront. The AGNS isn’t just a new gallery, it will be a truly public space. The project represents a radical shift in public building design in Canada. Building and landscape are integrated, taking full advantage of the urban placement and harbour connection. Every area of the AGNS will be used for gathering. The project embodies the Mi’kmaq term Mawiomi – meaning a gathering place and gathering of people. We are supporting this program with full services including flexible acoustics for formal and informal gathering and performance spaces, and protecting galleries from the noise and disruption of the busy harbourfront.
