The Challenge:

The Leaf at Canada’s Diversity Gardens is a botanical conservatory dedicated to understanding the botanical world and critical conservation issues. Aercoustics worked with design team to develop design criteria for sound isolation, room acoustics, and mechanical services noise and vibration control for The Leaf, including restaurant, classroom, banquet, and multi-purpose spaces. The 64,600-sqft facility features four distinct zones that transport visitors through entirely different climates and environments under the soaring ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) roof.

The Innovation:

Acoustic performance of the Main Street zone was critical, as the space is used for large gatherings. We completed a 3D model of the space to inform detailed recommendations for optimal acoustics.
