Acoustic flexibility in a community theatre.

The BMO Theatre Centre is home to the Arts Club Theatre and Bard on the Beach theatre festival group and company. The main 250-seat theatre sits above the wine bar and venue and the remaining programming includes rehearsal halls, costume shops and offices for the two groups. These uses presented a challenge with sound isolation performance. The Theatre Centre was designed for maximum flexibility and the acoustic performance had to match. We worked with the design team to ensure the space was an acceptable venue for many uses and that these uses would not disturb one another. The BMO Theatre centre opened in 2014 to rave reviews and a remains a popular choice for community and private event rentals.
