The Challenge:
With 18 York Street being located between the Canadian National Railway Lands and Gardiner Expressway, the 26-story office tower, with three levels below grade for parking and retail, needed some serious noise and vibration reduction innovation.
The Innovation:
Aercoustics provided acoustical engineering and design services to develop an NC-40 open office environment with minimal external and internal sound and vibration interference. This was accomplished by using an under-floor air system and developing a foundation isolation design which reduced the vibration level from the adjacent corridors.
