The Challenge:
A gas power station was experiencing high vibration levels with their exhaust stack when the generator was running. The levels were high enough to warrant concerns with the structure.
The Innovation:
Aercoustics instrumented the whole stack to measure sound and vibration levels during operation to try and diagnose the problem. This included developing a method of measuring sound level inside the stack in the extreme temperature and flow conditions of a gas turbine exhaust outlet.
