The Challenge:
The stacked, renovated music school includes a 120-seat Recital Hall (Pyatt Hall), eighteen acoustically designed teaching studios, two fully equipped classrooms, a 2-storey height ensemble room, and six practice rooms. Pyatt Hall is connected to a high speed elevator core on a side wall – great potential for disruption.
The Innovation:
The 120-seat Recital Hall was acoustically/vibrationally isolated with the implementation of isolated floors. This project was a close collaboration with the structural engineer to deliver project success.
