The Innovation:
The Catalyst Building, with Eastern Washington University as its primary tenant, is a premier hub for innovation in industry and academia featuring classrooms, lab space, and innovation spaces. The project the first Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) office building in the State of Washington and sits next to a major regional rail line – both of these elements required a delicate acoustic design approach. Aercoustics supported the client during site assessment with acoustic design recommendation to ensure the rail noise and vibration would cause no trouble, and acoustic design for CLT construction.
